Inevitable Tests

Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried? But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge.Al-Qur’aan suurah Al-‘Ankabut 29:2-4

Belief is not a mere word we say; it is a reality that imposes duties, a trust that carries requirements and a struggle that demands patience and perseverance. It is not enough that people should claim to believe. Continue reading

Following Vain Desires

The Best Guidance

The Qur’ān addresses hearts in the first instance and gives all its light and fragrance to an open mind which receives it with certainty and contentment. When a person’s mind is refreshed with firm belief, it can better appreciate the Qur’ān and understand far more of its meanings than we can imagine. It brings about miraculous changes in this life as one adopts a new way of life and discards his old one. All the systems, legislation and values the Qur’ān promotes are based first and foremost on faith. Hence, a person who does not, deep at heart, believe in God or accept that this Qur’ān is revealed by God or that its contents represent the system God wants implemented in human life, cannot find the desired guidance in the Qur’ān and will not share in the joyful news it brings. To Clear Your Doubts

Last week we saw the meaning of doubt and its causes. To review doubt causes confusion and depression. Indeed, the first way Satan leads people into the darkness of kufr (disbelief) is to cast doubt upon their heart. No matter how much he owns wealth in this world, his destination is hellfire, may Allah protect us. The best cure for disease of doubt is to seek correct knowledge and with sincere intention. Although my parents were not religious they were very strict in certain areas of my upbringing such as instilling good manners, generosity and consideration for others. Continue reading

The Qur’ānic Cure

We bestow of the Qur’ān do from on high what serves as a healing and a blessing to true believers.” (Suura Al-Israa : Verse 82) There is certainly a cure and a blessing for those whose hearts are full of faith. He is happy and satisfied with what he receives from God and contented with his lot in life. Anxiety, hesitation and obsession are all terrible to experience. As the Qur’ān dispels all these, it is indeed a blessing for true believers. Continue reading

Lost Youth

Today we are in the great fitna (tribulation, trial, temptation and etc). In this fitna youth and women are first to be attacked and as a result, they are lost in the darkness of life. Today many youths are lost, they don’t know why they live in this world, what is the purpose of their creation. They roam in the life like a mother who lost her child. She doesn’t sleep well until she joins her child. Why they lost themselves? What is the reason behind their roaming? Why can they not find the straight path that is full of light? Continue reading
