Darkness of Life

There is time in life when we commit sins or wrong thing, we fall into great sorrow and depression. Who can save us from such calamity? Even we may not know the reasons behind our depression and worry, sadness, loneliness and grieve may overtake us. Do you know why we feel loneliness, boring and worry in life even if we have enough wealth? The  reasons are two things. Either committing sins or getting far away from remembrance of our Lord (Allah). Allah says:

And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind.” Suuratu Taha 20:124

Yes, as we are human being we commit sins deliberately or undeliberately. So how can we get out from darkness of sins and live life of happiness? The answer is to seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah (God). By the way, what is seeking forgiveness (Istighfaar) in Islam? Seeking forgiveness means Asking Allah “to cover one’s faults, remove one’s sins  and not to punish the person in the Hereafter.“[1] Have you seen when your faults or sins are covered, you will be saved from humiliation and disgrace? Have you seen when your sins are removed, no longer you live life of depression and darkness because sins make one’s life dark? Have you seen if you are not punished for your sins, you will be saved from painful punishment? Due to these, our Lord calls us to seek His forgiveness and repent to HIM:

Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” Suuratu Az-Zumar 39:53

Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.” Suuratu Nuh 71:10

When one sins and then sincerely turns to Allah seeking His forgiveness, one will find Allah ready to accept his repentance and to forgive him.[2] Allah says,

And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah, he will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” Suuratu An-Nisa 4:110

“The fact that Allah is willing to forgive sins is something that a believer should never forget. This is a great act of mercy and grace on the part of Allah. Had Allah willed, He could have held everyone immediately accountable for every sin he commits. However, He has decreed that He shall allow His servants to seek His forgiveness and that He shall in fact forgive as He wills. Most humans not only sin but they commit sins on a regular basis. Therefore, they must continually seek Allah’s forgiveness.” [3]
